The Galaxy Note 3 release date is Samsung's next big launch after the S4, and the South Korean company may have just inadvertently confirmed rumors that the new phablet will feature a 6.3-inch screen size. Read on for more Galaxy Note 3 release date news, specs, features and rumors.

The Galaxy Note 3 release date may still be months away, but recent news from Samsung has techies wondering if Samsung has inadvertently leaked the screen size of the smartphone-tablet hybrid (or "phablet" for short) when they revealed their new smartphone accessory game pad.

Here's why we think Samsung just leaked their new phablet's screen size far ahead of the Galaxy Note 3 release date: The game pad will let you play a bunch of classic and cutting edge videos games (including "Tetris," "Sonic" and "Need For Speed") on a number of Samsung smartphones ranging in size from 4-inches to 6.3-inches. The South Korean company has yet to offer a smartphone with a screen size over 6 inches, but a slew of recent rumors claim that the redesigned phablet will feature a 6.3-inch display. So did Samsung just leak the new device's biggest spec?

The Galaxy Note 3 release date, specs and features are still a mystery, but The Korea Times has been publishing a steady stream of rumors concerning the new phablet's screen size, sourcing Samsung insiders who peg the display for either 6.3 or 5.9 inches. It looks like we may finally have confirmation. After all, why would Samsung design the new game pad to accommodate a 6.3-inch smartphone unless they were manufacturing one in the near future?

Here's Engadget with more analysis on the latest Galaxy Note 3 news:

We noticed that Samsung's planned Game Pad accessory has an expanding clamp designed to accommodate screen sizes larger than the 5-inch Galaxy S 4 being used as its showcase, but it wasn't clear just how far it would go. Now that there's an official accessory page on the GS4's microsite, Samsung is unusually specific about the limit: 6.3 inches. That's an odd choice of display dimension, as it's bigger than the 5.5-inch Galaxy Note II and smaller than the 7-inch Galaxy Tab line. Samsung could just be hedging its bets, so we wouldn't make too many presumptions. It's often wise to give yourself a little headroom. However, a 6.3-inch screen would dovetail with unconfirmed Korea Times rumors that the next-generation Galaxy Note phone would use a similar size and give the 6.1-inch Ascend Mate a run for its money. We won't be convinced until we can see such a device for ourselves -- for all we know, it could be an extra-tiny version of a future Galaxy Tab.

What do you think? Did Samsung just leak their new phablet's screen size months ahead of the Galaxy Note 3 release date? Or does the tech giant have a different 6.3-inch device in the works? Sound of in the comments below and read on for more Galaxy Note 3 release date news, specs and features.

The Galaxy Note 3 release date will arrive late this summer, by which we mean September 2013 (right around the same time we expect Apple to announce the next iPhone release date). These latest reports pegging Samsung's 3rd-gen phablet for the not-too-distant future have surfaced across the web.

The Galaxy Note 3 release date experts over at Android Geeks have put forward a pretty convincing argument for a September 2013 phablet launch:

"Since the latest reports are showing that Apple will set the iPhone 5S release date for June, we might even see the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 in flesh at IFA Berlin 2013 held between September 6 to 11. Or maybe Samsung will unveil its next-gen tablet in a separate event (just like it did with the Galaxy S3) a week before IFA Berlin, so all the media will be focusing on their new release."

The actual Galaxy Note 3 release date is expected to arrive in either late Q2 or early Q3, according to industry analysts. In layman's terms that would be late June July or early September, which just happens to be around the same time we expect Apple to launch their next iteration of the iPhone.

The Galaxy Note 3 release may not arrive until late Summer 2013, but that hasn't stopped Chinese manufacturers from pumping out cheap clones of the 6.3-inch smartphone-tablet hybrid. According to GizChina, the knockoff phablet features a 6.3-inch display with a quad-core processor under its hood.

Hitting Chinese stores far ahead of the Galaxy Note 3 release date, the knockoff clone, not-so-cleverly titled the "Note 3" ships in an simple black box. Maxwell notes that the device looks a lot like Samsung Galaxy Note 2 knockoff, the GooPhone N2, but adds that the processor has been upgraded from a dual-core MT6577 CPU to the "more powerful and efficient" quad-core Mediatek MT6589 processor chip, clocked at 1.2Ghz.

"According to the specs this knock-off will run on GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz 3G: WCDMA 2100MHz, networks GSM / GPRS / EDGE / UMTS / HSDPA / HSUPA. 802.11n Wi-Fi, GPS, A-GPS and Bluetooth 3.0 are all onboard too," reports GizChina.

So once the Galaxy Note 3 release date arrives what new specs and features can we expect from Samsung's most powerful smartphone? Well, the latest rumor is that the third generation phablet will feature wireless charging.

A number of leaks have already surfaced revealing that Samsung engineers are hard at work developing a wireless charger in time for the Galaxy Note 3 release date. The latest source for this rumor is a video of the new technology filmed at FCC.

Sounds great, but the biggest improvement to Samsung's phablet will likely be the processor chip. When the Galaxy Note 3 release date arrives we expect it to sport the much-hyped Exynos 5 Octa 8-core processor. The redesigned processor won't be featured in US models of the Galaxy S4, but we're still holding out hope to see it featured in the Note 3.

Last month at CES 2013, Samsung teased the Galaxy S4 Galaxy Note 3 release dates with a presentation focusing on their beefed up processor:
